  • Interesting and absorbing, keeps you hooked.

I have read nearly all the books in this series. I like the main characters - Stella and Jack - and it is interesting to see how their relationship develops over time. I found this last story to be a little harder to "get into". It was a little confusing for the first couple of chapters. Still it was a good story with plenty of twists and turns. An enjoyable romp.

  • Good but Confusing

I have read many of Lesley's books and have enjoyed them immensely but this one I liked the content I felt could have better edited it a bit more to aid the reader.

  • Jack and Stella went up a hill...

I'm not entirely happy with this book and did find it confusing in parts. I had to read chapter 50 three times before I was able to sort out what was happening. I also think the author isn't bothering to tell us things we should know. For example I've remarked on the last few books about Stella's lack of a PI license. It appear though that she does have one and this only became apparent from a remark by Cashman new the end of the book. I also still don't see how Stella and Jack can operate a business together when they keep hiding things from each other (although it does seem that they come clean eventually). This book has way too many twists and turns.

  • Lighthearted

This is a readable detective story withy likeable characters and a reasonable story line but it is the characters in the story that make you keep reading .
