    Twee? Tweed it.

Short, fun, original, stylish, thought provoking. Quaint but prescient. A tale of a Scottish school mistress, her girls, and her non love affairs may seem twee, but Muriel Spark's writing is sparse yet descriptive, witty but also cutting.

    Intriguing

This piece of fiction was, if anything, most intriguing. It begins in medias res and succeeds at holding onto the attention of its readers, page after page, with an iron grip. The prose is most excellent and gripping. The narrative voice shines through in its unicity. Overall it is a brilliant piece of art, which I am certain Miss Jean Brodie would have loved to consume.
