    The Princess Diarist

For those expecting a lot of interesting titbits on the making of Star Wars, this may be a disappointment. Apart from one major revalation - which you probably read about in the press when this book was released - there is very little of note. But this is a funny, caustic but touching insight into how one film affected an unassuming 19 year old girl. Carrie's ribald scatter-gun writing style can't disguise the rather sad hollowness at the centre of the Star Wars storm. A fun but very sobering read on the nature of fame.
