    The Railwayman's Wife

I thought that it was to long and swapped back and forth to much, however a lot of research has been done to make it a story.

    The Railwayman's Wife

Having just seen the film, The Railwayman, I could not believe the similarity in the setting of this novel and how the same issues came up. The difficulty of exservicemen settling back into society and how women coped with them struck me as particularly poignant. The writing is excellent and the story is a great read.

    The Railman's Wife

Quite captivating immediately. Beautifully crafted characters whose lives become inextricably entwined as the tale progresses. The post WW2 setting in the coastal town of Thirroul left me with a great desire to visit this special place for myself.
