Meet Sara & the townsfolk of Broken Wheel...

A beautiful story about a tired, run down town & its tired, run down townsfolk. It is also about a young woman named Sara who takes a break from her quiet, uneventful life in Sweden to visit her pen friend in a small American town. It follows the friendships Sara makes with the townsfolk & the effect they have on each other, as both Sara & the town blossom. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, though I had my doubts to begin with. I found the story pretty slow to get going, even at the slow parts it wasn't heavy & was still nice to read, I didn't even find myself skipping the odd paragraph as I have been known to do. At the beginning the author set up the story & the various characters to be full bodied, all the characters were well thought out & described so they seemed to be real people. While the book is about Sarah, the townsfolk of Broken Wheel were equally important, as was what was going on in their lives, their struggles & the high points in their lives, you felt they were your friends & cared what happened to them. I found it a happy, feel good book, even though there are hardships, struggles, sadness & a little anger, there is also triumph over adversity, romance, happiness & plenty of humour. It is a well balanced storyline that gives you everything you are looking for. I was given this book in return for an honest review.
