  • Remains of the day

A beautiful story of love, life and what it means to devote yourself to helping others. Whilst servitude appeared to be what the narrator aspired towards, in striving to be the best at doing a life's work there was so much more to what he got out of it. In fact the true meaning comes from finding out how all your experiences allow you to gladly receive and appreciate the pleasures and goodness as we age. Heartfelt.

  • The remains of the day

It is so beautifully written, a wonderful insight into times passed. I loved the characters, they remind me of upstairs, downstairs, not that I envied them, especially those on the lower rung of the servitude ladder.

  • libro para reflexionar

Obra maestra de Ishiguro que te hace disfrutar de la lectura a la vez que reflexionar sobre todo aquello que has dejado passar y ya no estàs a tiempo de recuperar.

  • The Remains of the Day

A wonderful book on so many levels. This simple butler's tale is a brilliant allegory for modern Britain.
