Heard James Runcie talking about the book at the Book Festival nd wasn'tsure what to expect but this book is an amazing insight into where Sdney cae from and how he became the man we see in the Grantchester Series. Best book I'veread in a very long time Sorry about the typos can't get back in to change them

  • The Road to Grantchester

I started the read as James Norton as Sidney. I found the first part being the battlefield a bit tedious but persisted. That is when I realized the needed background and started to really enjoy the novel. It is beautiful how his life ravels forward, his growth as a person and a vicar. His strength to admonish to Amanda his belief in Robert’s death and both their strengths, and belief in God to maintain their friendship. I held out hope right to the end that they would marry. I look forward to many more of his life adventures.
