  • Great book, very informative

I’ll begin by saying that I enjoy reading almost anything by Max Hastings. His prior service as a journalist allowed him to develop excellent writing skills. His meticulous research and attention to detail, along with his common sense analysis has provided a very good and informative work. I frequently make notes as I’m reading history books, usually some comment by the author that I find instructive. Most of these notes are no more than a page or two in length, I have eight pages of notes on this book.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • The Secret War: Spies, Codes, etc.

A wonderfully readable, and comprehensive, survey. Hurray for Bletchley Park. Highly recommended to appreciate the impact or non-impact of the secret war.
