Interesting story , well researched and trying to capture the feeling of the historical era. However, it reads like a romance in the parts dealing with the love triangle of the Pharaoh and the Royal Wives while it should be more centered in the power games between the cour , the priesthood and the merchants ( we learn very few about them, even less than the peasants). The conclusion was too rushed for my liking : all the princes conveniently die and the "miracle girl" is ready to be the heir, all in the last chapter. Would I read the next books? I would try the second .

  • Sekhmet bed

Well this story has totally different social concepts that are prevalent in this day and age. The ways of that long ago time are so different and strange especially with the idolatry and gods seeming to govern the people.

  • The Sekhmet Bed

I enjoyed this well researched novel as I have an interest in ancient Egypt. It had a good balance between the characteristics of a novel and showed historical accuracy in the process. I would recommend this book to any historically inclined person.
