  • Great series

This is book 8 in the Ellery series . Start with the 1st and I guarantee you will read them all in a week like I did. Wonderful stories, believable characters, drama, angst, hot sex and lots of true love. Enjoy!

  • I love this series!

The Ellery Mountain series is set in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, a place that I have visited many times. With RJ Scott's exceptional description of the scenery in the fictional Ellery Mountain I had no trouble visualizing the place at all. Even if you've never had the good fortune to visit there you will enjoy the books because RJ's writing will allow you to easily imagine you are there. One of the things I like about these books are that they are novella length stories. I really like this length of book because I can usually read one in just an evening. If you haven't started this series, the fact that they are novellas make it less daunting to start at the beginning since they are so easy to read. The blurb covers the basics of the story well. I'll tell you about how the book made me feel. The connection between Ben and Nick started out in a very unusual way (read the excerpt that is part of this post). While I wouldn't exactly say this is an enemies to lovers story, they certainly got off on the wrong foot. It didn't take long however for that spark of sexual attraction to lead to hooking up and then to both of them realizing there was something more between them. I loved how both of them had things going on that strongly affected their lives. Ben's concern for his brother, a fellow soldier who was burned, has led him to his current endeavor of bringing help to veterans with burn injuries through the Veteran's rehab center in Ellery Mountain. Nick sacrificed his reputation to help his best friend even though doing so caused him unwanted attention from the media. I'm not sure if this is the last book in the series or not. We get to see cameo appearances from many of the characters from the earlier books but you won't feel lost if you haven't read any of them. The Sinner and the Saint stands alone just fine. An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***

  • Ben & Nick

This was another one of my favs. These are quick, easy to read, a little sexy novellas set in small town Ellery Mountain. I like that Scott opted to introduce two totally new characters - but Ben & Nick fit really well into the world she’s had going and stories that span almost 10 years. I really enjoyed Nick & Ben as individuals, their initial antagonism, and growth as a couple. While the book is short & set in just a few weeks - I felt like I knew them and they had time to get to know each other. The pacing of the story was well done. Side note: Zach count is 5. It’s funny how many times she’s used this name for a secondary or background character in the series and none of them are the same person.
