  • The man for the job.

Having been a detractor of Winnie I now find my view changed. He was irascible and smoked and drank too much but we owe victory over Naziism to him. This is a great read about the ups and downs (mostly downs) of his first year as PM. His strength aided the British to keep calm and carry on. The book is not just about him but many of those who surrounded him and who opposed him plus a few ring ins. Their stories are equally as interesting and I am sure this is a read you will enjoy.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Loved it.

Was not sure I would get on with this. May be boring or stuffy. But I loved it. I could not put it down. It made me cry but also made me laugh. Churchill was a very clever man but also very excentric. I learned a lot.
