  • Frank and Funny As!

A brilliant bottling of the Seventies and the Later Seventies (the early Eighties) in Australia. I didn't grow up in Melbourne but could relate to every experience. The long stretches of pre-Internet boredom where, as Arcade Fire put it "you used to wait." Baffling trends that seemed so serious at the time but so funny in retrospect. The unholy union of stupidity and opportunity that played out in a pre-product-safety world. The furtive and awkward attempts to appear cool in order to be loved by girls. Usually spolied by the Olds. And of course the music. Dave O'Neil has written a beautiful book that is full of both love and laughter. Highly recommended.

    Thanks for your feedback!
