    An enjoyable read

I enjoyed reading The Sunrise, as I have all of Victoria Hislops previous books. However, I don't think this was as good as her others. I did though find it easier to follow than some of her earlier books. Mainly because there were fewer characters. Whilst I enjoyed this book, and found it quite gripping, I thought the ending was hurried, as though the author had got bored, and decided to bring it all to a halt as quickly as possible! Having said that I do have a much better understanding of the events that led to the division of Cyprus. The characters were all very real, and although a novel, it does give an insight into the lives of both the Greeks and the Turks living on the island of Cyprus at that time.

    The sunrise

Disappointing as it was nowhere near as good as her other books. Characters lacked depth as did the storyline, not enough happened in the book

    The sunrise

Excellent read, although it was fictional it was set against the factual history of cyprus. I learnt a lot about the island whilst enjoying a good story. The characters were totally believable. Recommend this book .

    The Sunrise

Tragic story beautifully written. It made the futility of war so real. Gripping from beginning to end.
