  • Sisters, Secrets, and Going Back Home Again

This was a story of sisters, secrets, overcoming pain and loss, and going back home again. Susan was a mother in her 40s who had recently divorced her husband who was cheating on her with his much younger secretary. It sounds like the start of a cliche romance, but her story was anything but. Susan and her sisters Christine and Lola go back home to Martha's Vineyard after being away for many years to deal with an ailing father who drove them all away. Several mysteries and secrets were revealed throughout the book, some of them with questions still unanswered at the end. This isn't the usual type of book that I read as I prefer sweet and funny romances, but I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.

  • Katie Winters’s The Sunset Cove Inn

Captivating and emotional story with elements of secrets, surprise letters, betrayal, sadness, greed, an aging forgetful parent plus personal growth, forgiveness and love. The story is power packed with family issues, the ability to trust and the discovery of truth. Oaks Bluff on Martha’s Vineyard is where the three Sheridan girls grew up. Then each left the Vineyard going separate ways. Only their father stayed on the Vineyard. Their father owns the Sunrise Cove Inn. The oldest is Susan. She is 44 year old criminal lawyer who had been in partnership with her husband. Now she is now filing for divorce after he and his secretary decide to be a couple. She was bought out of her share of their home and their practice. So when Susan gets a call from her aunt that her father had an accident and to come as soon as she can. Off she goes! When Susan arrives in the Vineyard, it is like being taken back to her oldest memories. Her memories plus the beautiful, vivid scenery described will let the reader smell the sea, feel the sand between their toes plus eat good food and drink good wine. Susan discovers that in addition to his accident that aging is effecting his memories. He needs help with the Sunrise Cove Inn to run and it needs repairs. Plus the family home need to be fix up. Susan contacts her two estranged sisters requesting them to come home. This is intricately woven story that will delight and entertain the reader. There are a myriad of colorful, well fleshed characters types will keep the reader bedazzled. A well written, captivating story mixed with family trials, challenging tribulations and love. The reality of the three sisters parents' relationship greatly adds to the drama. I volunteered to read The Sunset Cove Inn. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is voluntary and my own.

  • Recipe for a Good Read!

Stir in three sisters, a dash of divorce, shred a cup of secrets and bake at 350 degrees of childhood with just a touch of greed for an intriguing yet delightful summer, island tale. Entertaining, engaging, with just enough mystery to keep you turning the pages.
