  • In Memory of Lale & Gita

There is not many stories that you will be able to truly become part of and look through someone else eyes, but 'The Tattooist of Auschwitz' is a perfect example. We may never understand the devastation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, but this is a memoir that will not be soon forgotten. Heather Morris has not only published an amazing book with captive characters, but has recounted the true lives of Lale and Gita Sokolov - Hero & Heroine - during WWII. This is a story that can not be forgotten, because this recount is not romanticised with unrealistic fiction or tales of easy obstacles to over come. Heather has written this story for Lale, which truly reads as though he, himself is telling you his story. There is no sugar-coating, only true struggles to find happily ever after, that happens years after many horrors & struggles. I, personally could not leave this book without a review, as it would be an injustice to the memory of Lale and Gita. I was beyond moved by this book, thank you Heather.

A remarkable story told simply. Couldn’t put it down. A terrible time in our history that should never be forgotten.

  • Insightful

This book is written so well. I don't know if any of us can truly understand the horrors that took place and Lale was so brave to tell his story.

  • The tattooist of Auschwitz

I NEVER take the time to write a review, but this book was too incredible to not write something... A++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I highly recommend this story - it literally made me feel every emotion there is from heart-warming to horrified! It's now 5.58am and I've just finished an all nighter as I COULD NOT put this book down - now I need to sleep!

    Thanks for your feedback!
