  • Nice idea, with some flaws

The idea of this book is quite interesting - a multitude of worlds and the possibility of crossing from one to another through Doors - cracks or fractures. There’s an heroine, and villains, so very bad (the lack of nuance of the bad guys is one of the flaws); there’s a lot going on, the pace is fast and there are lots of plot twisting (too much, in my opinion) but the writing somehow seems to be behind, with its structure and tools (sometimes looking like walking aides) too exposed.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • Words as doors

There are shades of Ursula le Guin in this beautifully written tale about imagination, love, hope and freedom. The concept of doors as a way to enter other worlds is a well- worn one, but it is given a fresh take by this author who makes it her own.

  • Well worth it.

The first third had me wondering, but the writing was expressive and the characters interesting so I pushed on ... and it was well worth it. It turned into an interesting story, told in an unusual manner. I enjoyed the use of language and the themes and the romances were well handled. I especially liked that the conclusion didn't compromise the main character.

    Thanks for your feedback!
