  • Matthew Hervey, now with a C/O’s problems.

One must have read the previous thirteen books in the series to get the full benefit of the story line. The style is above the norm, in that there is an absence of poor language and an interesting use of quotations from various sources. Never forget that author was a brigadier in the GBR army and C/O of a cavalry regiment himself. For a history of four regiments of light cavalry, read his book “Light Dragoons”, The Making of a Regiment.

    Thanks for your feedback!

  • A good read

A good read but tends to get bogged down in tedious introspection by the main character
