  • Heroine grew on me

It took me quite a while to warm up to the heroine if I'm honest, but my opinion did improve as it went on. I'm not a big fan of lots of pop culture references unfortunately. I enjoyed the romance and oh did it make me wish I was somewhere warm and lovely reading it.

  • Sweet, Sexy & Side-splitting!

The Unhoneymooners was so much fun and proper escapism! Ami and Olive Torres are identical twin sisters. When Ami marries the love of her life Dane Thomas, everyone at their wedding falls sick with food poisoning bar Olive and Ethan, Dane's brother. So Olive and Ethan get to go on Ami and Dane's honeymoon to Maui, Hawaii... But there are a couple of massive catches - they are arch enemies and they have to pretend to be married! Things get really hilarious when they start bumping into people they know from their Minnesota hometown, and Olive and Ethan have to put on a show to make everyone believe they are actually married. Olive begins to realise that she doesn't mind spending time with Ethan and masquerading as his wife. Maybe he's not as bad as she thought he was - and maybe she can't get enough of being with him. But how much of their deceptive behaviour is real and what parts are an act? What will happen when they leave paradise and go home to Minnesota? The Unhoneymooners includes some terrific characters that I found myself really rooting for. Christina Lauren also peps things up with some spicy scenes, and there is bucket loads of great humour, that regularly had me chuckling away to myself. Even though I could predict most of what happened I was still so hooked on the story and charmed by it, that this was irrelevant. This novel pulled my emotions in every direction - it is witty, smart, sexy, and such a joy to read. The Unhoneymooners is definitely one for fans of bright, fun contemporary romances, or if you just want a lighter book to divert you from brooding thrillers. I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Little, Brown Book Group UK/ Piatkus via NetGalley and this review is my unbiased opinion.

  • What a great read

I loved this story. When a book makes me laugh out loud I know for sure I am going to read it again and again. Great characters, great story. Read from start to finish in a day. I couldn’t put it down. It’s a goodie.
