    Wow. Intelligent, artful page-turner

Just when I had dispaired of finding a likeable yet complex set of characters in a well-written, deftly plotted yet unforced story. Hallelujah. Written with such understated humour, restraint and respect for the reader. Thank you for restoring my faith in the art of the novel: likeably flawed but courageous characters, concise language, intrigue, adventure, insight and trsnscendence.

A book that makes you think about end of life.

This is an extraordinary book that makes you question your ideas about dying. In the early stages of the book I thought the story was about coping with epilepsy and the unusual friendship a young bullied boy develops with an older man, but how wrong was I? The 'hero' of the story, Alex, develops from a pre-pubescent child to a thoughtful, resourceful young man who is able to deal with very stressful situations that would see most of us struggle to cope. Because of Alex's isolation at home during his early stages of epilepsy he develops an extraordinary scientific knowledge through his reading to keep himself occupied. I found the writing style of this book easy to read, and it was one of those stories that occupied my thoughts for many days after I had finished reading it. I highly recommend this book to all readers.

The title invited me to read this book perfect!

A story of real and unconditional love and friendship. The universe will be a better place if we all had the pure qualities that Alex had for his fellow human beings and the world at large. I am inspired and enriched by the story of Alex...

    I am Crying

This book has opened me up on a level that books don't normally do, while I have cried reading I have not felt this touched by somthing as much ad this book has. The philisophical and moral underlines of the story make it even closer to my heart, it is the best book I have read yet.
