  • A Very Unique Perspective in the Roman Army

I have read many books about the Roman military; from the point of view of the optio; the centurion; the prefect; the legate; the cavalry man; the sailor. This is the first book that I have read that gave us an insight from a man of medicine: a SURGEON. How much more I would like to learn as to the treatment of various maladies; the various surgical techniques. There is much more that can be said this most essential branch of the service and how in Ancient time the wounded were treated and restored to health. Yes, I could read specific books on the domain. But, the historical perspective, the romance that this author brings make it from being a bland book to one that was difficult to put down. Thank you, Amanda, for this book, and all the others in your series.

    Thanks for your feedback!
