Predictable and bland but ok.It didn’t keep me awake wondering about what might happen next.

  • Gripped by fame?

The narrator takes you into her confidence and we feel like we are inside her marriage but the view is constnantly changing. It captures the feel of times now past that still send echoes to future generations. At times I found the wife a bit irritating and possibly cliched but glad I read it.

  • Disappointing

Tedious. I was looking forward to reading this book as I keep finding it mentioned in reviews of other books. Meg Wolitzer seems guilty of the very things she criticises in the voice of the wife. Too predicatbale that she would turn out to tbe the author.

  • Great Read

I usually read factual books and not fiction but this book has changed my mind about fiction. Gritty, sensitive and beautifully written. The characters almost lift of the pages. The author has you gasping in parts. I could not put this book down until I finished it.

    Thanks for your feedback!
