  • Well-written, intriguing, historically accurate

I have read the entire series of books in this series (available to date) and have been impressed. The characters are well developed and the author really tries to be accurate in terms of the historic events that occurred in the relevant era. Sometimes there are simply too many Welsh names to keep track of in the history, but that is not a problem in terms of the enjoyment of the books, including this one, which takes place in 1147. I recommend reading the series in order, because it develops along historical lines; some characters from earlier books die, for example, so the roles of those remaining (like Prince Hywel) do change.

    Thanks for your feedback!
