  • a four-star read that will have you searching

Then She Vanishes by Claire Douglas a four-star read that will have you searching. This is one that you have to pay attention with as the alternating chapters and POV and timeline will keep you on your toes, but once you get into it, you will be gripped. You need to be a detective to figure out who done it in the end, as it’s so well done, it starts with a bang and unfolds like a flower before your eyes and reveals the story. Jessica is a great journalist as she tells a great story, set in a seaside town so well written you can taste the salt in the air.

  • Pageturner!

Absolutely loved this story! Then She Vanishes is a real pageturner right from the start. Heather and Jessica became close friends in their early teens. They did everything together untill the day Heather's sister Flora vanished without a trace. Years later the women meet again but under terrible circumstances. Jessica has become a journalist and returns to her home town to cover a double murder case. Shockingly the prime suspect in the case is her old friend Heather... I highly recommend this book if you're into gripping mysteries filled with unexpected twists and turns.

  • Good

This is a good psychological thriller with a captivating start and the rest being a slow, burn to the satisfying conclusion. Written at good pace and switching between two timelines with complex and interesting characters, Then She Vanishes is an enthralling read and whilst it might not have the action or thrills of most books of this genre, it definitely has the tension and build-up to rival any of them. Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.
