  • It will evoke all of the emotions

Things We Never Said will evoke all of the emotions as Dahlia and Michael find their way back to each other. It is the third instalment to the Hart's Boardwalk series but it surly does not disappoint. In fact it sets you up wanting for #4. Their love story is not conventional and it is not a fairytale which is something that I love about the way SY writes. Dahlia has a really troubled past that is holding her back from so much and allowing her to run away from everything she loves, including Michael. Dahlia has to face so many of her fears, which takes you on a journey. Character development and story line is strong and keeps you up all night wanting to know what happens next. The story has all the true beautiful elements of a love story including angst, love, lust, heat and an amazingly hot book boyfriend Michael, however it is so relatable and real, which is something that I love about SY's novel's. The friendships and relationships outside of Dahlia and Michael is also very important to highlight, there is so much development and support from the other characters part of the series which I truly love. The female empowerment and relationships is something that keeps drawing me back and I cannot wait for book #4. I highly recommend reading this novel, you can read it as a standalone however I would recommend reading it in order so that you can truly get the full understanding of all the characters, their roles and how they connect. Happy Reading!

  • I love everything Hart’s Boardwalk

Well, I’m sure it’s a sign of an excellent writer, when a few chapters in I’m sobbing, I don’t yet know the characters, and I don’t know the facts, but still I have tears streaming down my face. That’s great writing right there. I was so excited to get back to Hartwell, I’ve missed it. Although book 3 is split between Boston and Hartwell, it did not detract from the series. There are still the same wonderful characters we’ve seen previously, as well as the same ‘not so wonderful’ characters. We also have a few new additions. A second chance romance with a twist, and a little bit of suspense. I loved Michael Sullivan, he’s like the perfect book boyfriend, macho with a soft centre. He knows what he wants, and he’s not afraid to go for it. Dahlia however, has been belittled her whole life by the one person who is supposed to love her the most. It’s not surprising then that she has a closet full of demons. Dahlia and Michael are perfect for each other, it’s just a shame one of them doesn’t realise it. They’ve both made mistakes, they just need to own them, move on and forgive and forget. Easier said than done. I loved the writing, the story, and the characters, even when I was frustrated with them, I’m so looking forward to more in this series. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

  • Favourite read of the year

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Samantha Young is a go-to author for me and second chance romances are one of my favourites, so I pretty much knew Things We Never Said would do it for me. However, I wasn’t prepared for just how spectacularly it wiped the floor with my extremely high expectations. I could not put this book down - it’s a delightful combination of drama, intrigue, humour, passion and emotion, with off the charts angst and ALL THE FEELS! The plot was engaging and the momentum of the story was perfectly paced. I adored Dahlia and Michael, they were down to earth and had great chemistry. Dahlia was feisty and funny, while Michael was alpha hot and deliciously dreamy. It was fab catching up with the whole Hartwell gang, particularly Jess, Cooper, Bailey and Vaughn (Vaughn = swoony sigh <3). This has been my favourite read of the year, it was thoroughly entertaining and I absolutely cannot wait for the next instalment from the Hart’s Boardwalk series.
