    Brilliant

Funny, insightful and moving. I laughed out loud and fought back tears. As I look down the barrel of Internship/PGY1/FY1 in Australia I can't help but feel the deepest sympathy for Adam and those who continue to serve the NHS. What a remarkable job they do.

    LOVED IT.

As a junior doctor myself this captured my feelings exactly. Well done Adam Kay.

    Funny until the end...

...when it hits you right in your gut and makes it heart-wrenchingly bittersweet. Then, of course, it made me angry. That the bureaucrats can’t see or understand the toll their ‘sounds great on paper and in theory sucks’ ideas have on the people on the front line. Whilst not in the same league, teaching has the same sort of dropout rates. People often wonder why so many leave an ‘ideal’ job but never get that it can be soul-destroying, crushingly hard, and it burns you out. Hats off to all those who work in the field of medicine, you do a wonderful job.

    unputdownable

I am not a doctor. I have never been involved in medicine or anything medical related. THIS BOOK touched me, to the core. It made me experience so many emotions. The best book i have read in a very long time.
