  • Very well written and reads like it is the truth so very easy to follow without leaving you wondering if that was what really happened. The perfect introduction to the sequel which should tell of the Terry Lewis years as Commissioner of the Queensland Police Force during the 1970's and 1980's, a time when corruption was in place and certain underworld activities flourished. Makes you want to go looking for the sequel, which I have not yet seen available but will certainly buy as soon as it is available. A must read for anyone with an interest in Queensland Police and politics and the way they interacted with the end result being a far reaching Royal Commission by Tony Fitzgerald QC in 1988/89, an event which not only exposed corruption but changed the course of Queensland politics with the stranglehold the National Party had on Queensland Parliament finally being pried free. Looking forward to the sequel. Any police officer who served during that time should find this book extremely interesting.

  • Can't wait for the next one!

For someone who's too young to remember it but has been around long enough to understand how big the Fitzgerald Inquiry was for Brisbane this book is perfect. For years I've heard family members reflect on the old days, the "Sir Joh" days and by reading this book, I felt like I was there myself. I think I'll need to go back and re-read it so I can get all the characters and how they were intertwined clear in my head. I recommend this for young Brisbaneites and lovers of crime.

    Thanks for your feedback!
