  • Oodles Of Unpredictability!

😊 Heidi Perks writes a highly addictive, incredibly good psychological thriller. Three Perfect Liars is a mystery based in the workplace of three ambitious women, Laura Denning, Mia Anderson and Janie Wood. They work for a Lymington-based advertising agency - Morris & Wood - but the company's plush offices have burnt down. Who is responsible, and why? Having read a previous novel by Heidi Perks, Come Back For Me, I couldn't wait to get started on this one, Three Perfect Liars, told through interviews led by DC Emily Marlow, and interspersed with details of the weeks leading up to the fire. With its fast pacing, there was never a dull moment and this was a taut, original, and captivating read. The characters were adeptly drawn and brilliant in their roles, whether intended to be inherently good or bad. The clarity of Heidi Perks' writing made it an easy story-line to follow, and the author's writing is of a variety that any thriller fan can appreciate - top-notch. She was able to create a wonderful tone of unease that continued until the very last page. I loved the way the finer points of the story were sporadically fed to the reader as the story built to its satisfying conclusion. The added bonuses of the menacing moments and buckets of tension helped to make the story a masterpiece. Three Perfect Liars is an addictive, clever, devious tale that highlights the complex relationships that often exist within an organisation where revenge is occasionally without boundaries. My thanks must go to Heidi Perks for writing such an awesome book! 😊 I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel at my request from Random House UK, Cornerstone/ Century via NetGalley and this review is my unbiased opinion.

  • A Cleverly Plotted Novel!

What a cleverly plotted novel! Three women, one crime and no straight path to the guilty. Laurie chose her own replacement to cover whilst she took maternity leave; on her return she's shocked to find Mia still in place. Mia, in turn, has worked hard to make herself useful and popular and has no intentions of being squeezed out - she needs this job - but why? Janie, whose husband is CEO, gave up her successful career to look after their children, but isn't completely happy about it. All three women have secrets, and when a fire destroys the iconic building where the business operates from, all three come under suspicion. I have visions of the author with a plotting board getting her threads in a tangle trying to work out this one - I know my thoughts were twisting this way and that as I tried to come up with 'whodunnit'! Every time I had to lay this book aside (I feel asleep whilst reading late into the night), I couldn't stop thinking about the characters and wondering who, what, where and why! The answer comes at the end, and what a shocker that was .. I never would have guessed. This is a novel for modern times; a story which will grab you and keep you hooked all the way through and it's an excellent piece of work. The author deserves a huge pat on the back - I enjoyed this one immensely and have no hesitation in giving it a full five stars.

  • Great Read

Great read enjoyed it immensely the plot was very cleverly done as you couldn’t wait to find out who started the fire with all the police interviews and alibi’s hadn’t got a clue the characters were all very complex and seemed to all have a secret which made the book more readable to try and find what their secrets were would definitely recommend.
