  • A little light reading ...

Not a bad tale - a bit reminiscent of "The Hunger Games" in that a group of disparate people are thrown together in a competition to the death. The central character is a strong willed teenage girl trained as a assassin but who also has Cinderella moments, including going to a ball to which she was not invited. Pretty enjoyable.

  • Brilliant

I reallylove this book, i read it for the second time and i still kept me gripped until the last page! If you love a good book with lots of action, romance and a woman who is strongwilled, briliant and can stand up for herself read it. I think Sarah J Maas really did write a great book.

  • Throne of Tedium

A teen romance novel pretending to be a sword and sorcery adventure. There is little action and only a wafer-thin plot as a foundation for a lukewarm love triangle. If the writer spent as much time showing that the protagonist is a deadly assassin as she does merely stating it then this would be a good read, unfortunately she does not. A great premise with absolutely no follow through. Avoid.

Yeah ok it is what it is, don’t think it was that phenomenal but I would like to see what happens next I guess. I hope it’s better

  • Not what you would expect- but enjoyable

3.5-4* I've read a quite a few bad reviews for this book- but I really enjoyed it! No, it's not a typical assassin book- so if you're looking for something like Brent Weeks Night Angle series this is NOT it. People have said that the main character is too spoilt and vain to be 'the best assassin' but that is what endears me to her character. At the end of the day she is a teenage girl doing what she needs to do to survive- and finding joy in the little things that make life worth living. I enjoyed the world that Maas has created and am looking forward to how in all unfolds Am looking forward to the next one in the series
