  • Absolutely Amazing and Emotional Book

This is book nine in The Hope City Series and it is Torin and Erin's story and omg what an emotional journey but a must read. Erin was in the military as a medic and she had seen so much devastation but when her fiance John died in her arms while they were on tour she completely fell apart and suffers from Nightmares, Anxiety and PTSD and she was also having counselling to help her and along with her running and taking her degree in nursing she kept herself hiding to try and keep her memories of what happened from crowding her. Torin is ex military and owns The Celtic Cock pub with his sister and he was also a runner training for the hope city marathon. Erin and Torin had a connection between them that was so strong right from the beginning and the ran together but with everything that she had been through would she be able to take the next step that she needs to be with Torin and start to life again all will her memories pull her under keeping her from having the life she deserves. This book takes you on a journey of life's ups and downs along with danger, loss, heartbreak, hope, love, friendship and most important family that is always there for you to help and support through the difficult times and situations. This story was so emotional and I cried so much and I felt as if I was there going through everything with them and feeling all of their pain but I still couldn't put this book down as it takes you in right from the first page and keeps your attention until the last one and it was so addictive. Maryann Jordan is an amazing author and writer and she is also the Queen of Quotes that stay in your memory while reading her books and her stories always have so much depth to them that you feel like you are in her stories yourself. I absolutely loved this book and I definitely recommend you read it along with her other books and you will definitely not be disappointed. I Voluntarily Reviewed an Arc Copy of this Amazing and Emotional Book.

  • Torin and Erin

A little bit sad. This story is heartbreaking and ultimately super sweet. Torin is one special guy, who gives Erin more than she expected. A little drama and intrigue. A super sweet and special ending.

  • Masterful and hard to put down

Erin has been on the sidelines for a while; we’ve glimpsed her, but we finally have her story, and it’s heartbreaking. The way Torin approaches her, his gentleness and their shared grief about their pasts – there is no way to finish this book without tears. The build-up to the climax event (never spoilers in a review!) is almost insidious; it happens but is never a focus, so that, when Erin and Torin experience it, it is as much of a shock to the reader. There is one truly heartrending scene where Erin clings to her shirt – I can’t say more, but that has stayed with me. Hope City is one of those fictional spaces that is becoming increasingly familiar, and each new book brings us further in. This is Maryann Jordan at her most masterful.
