  • a five-star read with bite

Trap ‘N’ Trace by Tee O’Fallon a five-star read with bite. This was my first read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last, I simply adored the writing style and not simply because there are dogs In the story. That being said I really hope there are places like the canine Haven in the real world as well, this was a compelling read and I already have the rest of the series queued up on my kindle as I need more of this writing in my life. FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews and his K-9 partner was so well done, I love me a good police procedural and usually find myself picking fault as I can hear my step-dad in my head going ‘what are they doing, they wouldn’t hold it like that’ and ‘who says stuff like that! Really why do you watch/read this rubbish’ and I know if he was still here I could tell him to pick this up and he would devour it, even if he would blush at some of the descriptions. But they weren’t my favourite characters in this story, that honour went to wealth socialite Katrina Vanderburg and that surprised me as on the surface, I really didn’t expect to like her as much as I did, she wormed her pretty little face right into my heart. Kat became so much more than a wealthy socialite as we follow her on her path, and it’s a twisty path that is easy to follow but you will need to be mindful you don’t fall of the side as I suspect it may be a huge drop. This was a great story that shows us that money, power can be dangerous things and how that can cause imbalance, but they may not be the only dangerous things to these well written characters. What a fantastic read this was and I don’t think I can put into words how much I enjoyed it, It has taken me two days to get this written as my last one was just all, aaahhhh ooohhh and wow. I couldn’t think of any better words that would do it justice.

  • An enjoyable mystery

Trap 'N' Trace is book four in Tee O'Fallons Federal K-9 Series, although it can easily be read as a standalone, as each book features a different K-9 Federal Department from State Police to CIA. With this particular story featuring FBI (K-9) Investigator Dayne Andrews, who is called in to investigate, when local heiress Katrina Vandenberg stumbles across the dead body of a former FBI Agent and is then pulled further into the investigation when the killer seemingly targets her and her business Canine Haven. And it really was an enjoyable story. That had cute canine companions and likable characters. Not to mention a nice amount of mystery, danger, romance and heat. And honestly, I was easily engaged throughout. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**

  • Another winner!

Another winner! I loved this book - actually, I loved the whole series. This novel opens quickly with Kat finding a murdered woman. Dayen, the human half of an FBI K-9 team, responds and finds the dead body of his former partner. Before long Kat is fighting for her life, and Dayen is determined to protect her. Remy, the K-9, is doing all he can to assist them, even "mothering" the stray dog Kat took in that started all of this. As Kat and Dayen spend more time together, the sparks begin to fly, however, each is convinced their worlds are just too different. I loved the way they interacted and the push/pull of their relationship. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

  • Exciting!

From page 1, this book was full of excitement. I really liked the way the book played out- it focused a lot on the mystery of who was stalking/ hunting Kat and why. Dayne, the FBI agent, was assigned to help protect her. They met previously and he had preconceived notions about her because she is so rich. But Kat, as a character, is fantastic. Caring, sweet, down to earth and smart, she made the perfect heroine. Dayne is protective and smart too so together, they made quite a team. I loved the look into a few other agents including one from a prior book (that I bought but haven’t read yet) and Remy, Dayne’s canine partner and Angus, the puppy, stole my heart. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early copy. I have enjoyed this book very much!

  • Perfect mix of romance, action, mystery & puppies!

This amazing story starts strong with our heroine landing right in the middle of a murder scene, and the suspense just keeps building from there. We're given a detailed, front-row seat to the investigation, which intensified the intrigue while also letting the reader feel every raw emotion as it happens. I loved how Kat and Dayne continually defied each other's expectations. Their chemistry was instant, and the emotional depth really carried it far beyond simple physical attraction. There was a strong ring of authenticity in the major obstacle to their relationship, which I thought was resolved splendidly. Their HEA was nothing short of inspiring. There are a lot of wonderful scenes that showed the humanity of these characters. One of my favorites is the fundraiser where Kat sets aside her proper decorum to deliver a much-needed comeuppance. There are a couple heartbreaking moments, steamy intimate scenes, and a couple scene-stealing pooches that add both levity and gravitas as we get an inside look at the life of a K-9 officer. This story was a non-stop read for me, one I highly recommend for anyone who loves romantic suspense. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
