I have an autoimmune disease. For me, JP has captured the issues associated with living with chronic illness perfectly, highlighting the mix of frustration that you feel personally with your own ‘limitations’ which are always compared with ‘normal’ which has a very limited definition applying probably to relatively few. I think it is essential reading for the medical profession to help them understand the need to go beyond endless medications and surgical interventions to ‘manage’ chronic illness symptoms; to look beyond their single lens of professional specialisation and take a more holistic and empathetic view of chronic illness to help patients manage their symptoms better and hopefully less intrusively, and in a manner which don’t of themselves result in new illnesses. It is also important reading for all to help them gain some understanding of living with chronic illness.

    Thanks for your feedback!
