  • A band from the "swinging sixties"

I do not recommend this novel -- too much "name dropping", too many and, for me, useless "cameo appearances": Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, the Grateful Dead, John Lennon Himself, etc. The fact that the author uses mental health issues as a link with magical realism did not work for me ; that is an insult to people who suffer from those diseases. I did find "Satisfaction" in the conclusion, however I had to wade through padding, through pages peppered with aphorisms and through the author's unabashed infatuation with his own creation -- the "working class hero" and star bass guitarist -- to get there.

  • Very impressive

  • A trip and a half

No one in their sixties could not love this book, unless they were in a coma during their teenage years.

  • Superb!

Seldomly perceived such a joyful, entertaining but also touching read! This is Mitchell at his best.
