  • Intense

Most books of this genre are all about escaping and surviving. This book took it to a nother level. Really analyzing the reasons to our reactions, not just a fluff touch, but the embodiment of who each of us truly are. It causes you to do some deep soul-searching, to discern the reasons for what we do, but not just because of what the societal moras are and tells us what is right and wrong. Great book, that I would highly recommend!

  • Thumbs up!

I had my doubts I would enjoy this book going in, but the foreword convinced me, and I gave it a shot. This story gives a very personal look inside the thoughts of a very realistic character trying to survive an apocalypse he had a hand in creating. His moral struggles are very human indeed. What is taken for granted in civilized daily life is turned on it head when just surviving is at issue. I have to say I think of myself as a moral creature, but I wonder if I would find the bravery to risk all for others as Kell did.
