    Interesting insight

Inspiring story of a difficult journey to escape a dangerous country to come to Australia. The insights of life in a detention camp was an eye opener and well worth reading about. However, the narration somehow lacked emotion and that's why I gave it only 3 stars.

    Very inspirational

Harrowing details, not only as a boat person and detainee but also of horrendous conflicts in Iraq. I am a patient of his and can testify to the care and skill in which he functions. A wonderful aspect and strength in his care is the strong and committed team. So many people unified in their competence and compassion greatly enhances the healing process.

    gives overview of the journey

easy reading gives a non political aspect one that westerners find hard to come to grips with given the level of propaganda we are subjected to. I had a hard job putting it down because I felt his urgency and hopelessness and just wanted him out of there.

    An important story

An important story that needs to be read. We need to know what is going on on detention centres. I can only begin to imagine how much worse it is now

    An extraordinary story

An excellent eye opener into life in a degrading and inhumane refugee camp. The reader becomes engrossed in the struggle, determination and unbreakable spirits of a brilliant, caring young surgeon.
