  • Some random story i made up

A crooked sky hung the blood-red sun below the clouds. Yowls shattered, the she-cat's paws felt as if she was going to slip underneath the earth. A twinge of saddness shredded her heart. She couldn't do anything to help-- she had to watch to yowls and battles repeat over and over with her standing, watching blood spill from the scars of brave warriors. Shivering, she pushed herself into the undergrowth. It was so dark, she couldn't detect between clanmate and enemy. Suddenly, a paw swiped at her muzzle. She struck back, unaware of who it was. The cat flipped and clawed her belly, then onto her shoulders. The she-cat was quicker. Ducking, she bit down her enemy's hind leg, causing them to fall. Suddenly meeting her enemy's green eyes, his muzzle dripping with blood, he started to yowl her name. "Amberlight! Amberlight! Amberlight!" A paw prodded her shoulder, and soon the cat's voice turned into the voice of her friend's, Brindlewing. "Amberlight! Stop being a doormouse and wake up!" she spat urgently, her yellow eyes of anger and shame. Puzzled, Amberlight woke up. She glanced outside her nest to see Rowanstar on the Highledge. "All cats old enough to lurk the shadows gather here for a clan meeting!" He yowled, his dark tabby pelt shimmering in the rain. It had rained all night, which kept Amberlight awake for what seemed like moons. Brindlewing hurried with Amberlight at her side as the two she-cats bounded into the clearing. Mosspelt and Vulturepaw, her apprentice sat in front of them. A queen, Petaldawn and her mate, Badgerstripe, appeared from the nursery with their kits trailing behind. "I wanna go see a meeting!" Creamkit wailed, padding in front of Petaldawn. "Yeah! We are almost apprentices!" Declared Duskkit. "We're only four moons, mousebrain." Snorted Cinderkit. "Kits," Badgerstripe warned. "go back and play with Mudkit and Featherkit." Creamkit opened her mouth to protested, but then let out a yelp as Featherkit tumbled onto her cheerfully. Amberlight watched the kits play, but was interuppted by Rowanstar. "Our deputy, Foxclaw, is now hunting with StarClan." Cats murmured with grief as they looked down at Foxclaw. "It is time I appoint a new deputy," he meowed. Amberlight glanced at the gathered cats. Snowflight leaned in close, a smug look overcoming her face. Talonheart straightened himself. But to Amberlight's suprise, he was looking down at her. "Amberlight, you are a loyal cat to ShadowClan and has deticated your mind to your clan rather then else. Do you accept the position as the new deputy of ShadowClan?" Amberlight chest tightened with pride. Wow! ShadowClan's deputy. And possibly a leader. She glanced ahead of being a leader, being respected and having nine lives. But... was it her destiny? She felt the same just like in her dream. Being unable to choose. Nervous. Self-concious. Shy. Quiet. Would she be a right leader? Amberlight trembled as she stood up. She looked down at the ground. It felt if she could slip... and fall... she realized it would be worse as a leader. Inhaling, she looked up at her leader. "No. I do not."
