A great shifter story. Lions and wolves.

The heroine is a wolf shifter, and she just can't figure the hero out. The wolf shifters in this story are almost all total jerks. They are abusive to females, and give females zero respect. The heroine was in a bad marriage to the alpha of her pack, and now is a rich widow. Because of the abuse, her inner wolf is in hiding, and she is always ready to kowtow to the males to avoid their fists. Her bodyguard, the hero, gets annoyed at the kowtowing and totally pushes her to get her to push back and see it is safe. The female lions are so funny--quite girly, but also ferocious. In a lion pride, females are honored as equals and they give our heroine a good example of standing up for herself and how safe it is to be herself. They really cracked me up. Her late, un-lamented alpha mate left our heroine a very rich woman, and all the wolves want that money. Her brother, a good wolf shifter, asked the lions to protect her, and that is how she meets her mate. This story has action and suspense and gender-roll-bending surprises. There is a lot of humor and a bit of sex, too. I strongly recommend.

    When a beta roars

OMG s funny a wolf shifter and a cat shifter and she thinks she's allergic to cats! Another great read from this Canadian author and the second in her series of cat shifter books. If you want to laugh until you cry this is the book for you and I highly recommend the first in the series or any of Eve Langlais's books for that matter. I can't wait to read the next book in this hilarious series.

    Quick & entertaining

Just as entertaining as the first book in the series. Hayder is the pride's Beta Lion that is put on "babysitting" duty when a she wolf's life becomes threatened. Hayder feels he is above this duty but of course when the Alpha gives you an order you must obey. Little did he know the she wolf in question would come in a sexy and frightened package that would have his lion screaming MINE. Arabella is recently widowed and has her entire pack out to catch her in hopes of becoming her new mate. It is not really Arabella they want however but her fortune that came with her husbands death. When her brother suggests she hide with his hometown's Pride and allow them to protect her she really didn't know what to expect, but it wasn't the handsome Hayder that makes her heart beat faster. Hayder is determined to win Arabella over but how can she allow herself to feel for another so soon after losing her mate, even if her mate was a horrible person who beat and tortured her. She can't even take care of herself and her wolf has been MIA for years, beaten into submission by her husband. Plus, how can she be mated to a lion when she is allergic to cats and everytime she is around him she sneezes. The fates must really hate her. Another highly entertaining read that I would recommend to all the love shifter romances.
