  • Modern down to earth exploration

I find some books about Eastern philosophy to be glib about profound philosophical issues that are raised, not addressing logical problems that are bound to occur to thoughtful readers. On the other hand, some books just avoid those philosophical issues, repeating famous sayings accompanied by anecdotes. Wright plunges right into these issues with a modest, scientific, common sense approach that is motivated by honest curiosity. He does it without burdening the reader with technical philosophical or scientific jargon. His use of neuroscience and psychology to explore the "truth" of Buddhism is fascinating and convincing. Scientific findings are used in a straightforward, reasonable way, not stretched to support questionable speculations, as is done by some other authors. The modest descriptions of his own experiences help the reader to understand the benefits of meditating.

  • Interesting and Insightful

Good for people who wish to learn about meditation or perhaps wish to learn more about themselves. This book is accessible, interesting, and enlightening (pun intended). The writing has a secular focus with some interesting contributions from the author. I reccomend it.

  • Illuminating read

Very well written, illuminating, humourous at times, but succinct and to the point. Very much recommended read.

  • Waste of time and money!

Honesty, I could've written a better book. Repetitive amd unneedingly long. Note that I read the literal book, not the ebook version. Points are not solid as well. Overall a 1.

    Thanks for your feedback!
