Fun times, good friends and a great love story!

We’re back with the Collins family, I am always happy to be in their company. This time Fiona has to basically chose between Asher and Owen, but they are different as night and day, so why not go for both of them, that would be the way to go within a Mari Carr story, oh yes you can. But this is not the typical Mari Carr story, because the ending you are thinking is coming is totally different than expected. This story was just so much fun and as the author said, she was wanting to throw something fun our way after the last Wilder Irish story just tore our hearts. I enjoyed getting to know Asher and Owen and let’s not forget Teddy, from how they met to getting to work together and eventually becoming involved, but who will end with Fiona, well that is something you can find out when you pick up this story. At the end of the story all I can say is she got me, I fell for it, but I loved being that Fool! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

    Unbelievable writing & memorable characters

I've only read about 1/3 of this book and I know that I'm hooked! I've already gotten the 3 previous books in the series and plan on following the family Collins since I am really enjoying all of the characters. There are all types here and something for everyone. There are menages, best friends, gay love, sisterhood, mature love, devotion and most of all laughter. This is a special group who know that family is always dependable and loving, no matter what the world has thrown at you. Believe me, this group has had a lot on their plate! Mari Carr's writing has put her in my top 10 list of all authors. I know already that these books will be ones that will be on my "reread" shelf. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

    sweet, fun, steamy tale

April Fools is a sweet, fun, steamy tale of one woman and her 3 best friends. Fiona has broken up for good with her on again, off again ex, Brock. He was all about the big things and never about the little important things. And why should she ever have to prompt a man to tell her he loves her?! They're done as far as she's concerned. But she's still got 3 men in her life and they'll be her rocks to the very end. Owen, Asher, Teddy and Fiona met in college and have been best friends since. They're now a successful writing team who's about to film their sitcom's finale in her family's bar, Pat's Pub. She's sorta mixed up lately because she's having more than friendly feelings and dreams about Asher, "the hottest nerd on the planet" who has been in love with Fiona for ages, unbeknownst to Fiona. But then there's Owen, Fiona's ex for about a second back in college. He's in love with Fiona, too. So what's Asher to do? He can't break one best friend's heart to be with another best friend. Thankfully Teddy is gay, or who knows what crazy ideas she'd have about him. But does Teddy have ideas about a member of their foursome? And does that person have the same feelings for Teddy? When the now all single at the same time friends decide to throw an Anything Goes Night party in the Collins Dorm (the apartment above the pub) that falls on April Fools, things get wild. Hearts seek each other out. Clothes get torn off. One man's dominating tendencies come out. The aftermath will be intense and the four of them will have to swim through this potentially friendship changing new reality. Although I haven't read any of the other books in this series, I really liked this one and was able to figure out what was going on quickly. The whole clan is a fun, quirky, loving family who have made me want to know more about them. As much as I fell in love with Fiona and her 3 best friends, though, and as hot as they were together (and individually and coupled up), I think the character I love most is Fiona's Pop Pop, her Grandpa Patrick. That man is awesome, the quintessential grandpa, and he reminds me of my own Grandpa, may he rest in peace. I'm off to read the rest of this series now, and am crossing my fingers there's more to come in the Wilder Irish world. Unexpected ending, so good!

Fiona, Owen, Asher, and Teddy have been best friends since college. They know all get to work together on a sitcom, with Owen staring, and Fiona, Asher, and Teddy writing At 25, they are deciding the party life might not be all they want now. Long and short-term relationships have all ended, and the four find themselves all single at the same time. For some, or all?, is it time to act? Deep feelings that have been hidden, do they let them come to the surface? This doesn't quite end up as expected, but it ends so much better!
