  • Love This Series!

Some may know that I absolutely loved, The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker a few years ago. Since then I have become a big fan of all of her books and when I found out there was going to be a sequel to one of my favourites, I was over the moon excited! Fast-forward to today where I just finished Wild at Heart. Let me say that this was one of the best sequels I've had read and I wish that K.A. Tucker will write a third book. I just love these characters so much that I want to see what is going to happen with their relationship (Calla + Jonah) and their Alaskan friends! I wish I would've read it more slowly due to myself not wanting it to end. Loved it!! It begins right where we left off from the first book and gives us a bit of a recap. I'm so happy that K.A. Tucker has brought us back into this Alaskan world because the first one ended perfectly and left it very open to a sequel. I can say that this book did not disappoint and is one of my favourite books of the year. This book has definitely taught me that I while I love all the outdoors I also hate the mosquitos just as much (like Calla). Her character has taught me to be just as brave as her as she embraces her new surroundings and follows her heart to move to Alaska with Jonah. We got to see exactly all of Calla's fears, jealously, triumphs, friendship, and romance with this journey. It felt like you were there with her as she faced each one of them. The chemistry between Calla and Jonah was taken to the next level as you see their relationship grow in this one. It is their journey together as a couple that I can even say has captured all of us readers hearts because they love each other so deeply and sacrifice certain things to be with each other. Wild at Heart was just perfect in every way. I was cheering and crying at a few parts with their relationship and with how everything happened I was happy with how the entire book ended. Agnes, Mabel, Roy, Toby and the locals who also help shape Calla as she adjusts her new life after Wren has past away. K.A. Tucker has woven us a beautiful story about love, adventure and friendship in this amazing series. I really hope that we get to see more of Calla and Jonah's future in a third book because I want to see what their life in Alaska is going to be like and we would get more Jonah! The story was just perfection. Thank you K.A. Tucker for writing this book and bringing us along with their adventures and the beautiful backdrop of Alaska.

This is like a readers dream come true! A sequel that I thought that would never see the light of day! Picking up where A Simple Wild left off, we follow the ups and downs of Calla and Jonah's relationship in Alaska. Calla starts to wonder what to do after being a few months in Alaska to make her life worth something instead of starting to feel trapped like how her mother had. She also gets into an unlikely friendship with "a grumpy old man" named Roy in which his backstory is so sad. Though towards the end was definitely bittersweet because I wasn't ready for this story to end, but was grateful I got a follow up with one of my favorite couple in this book. I can't help but wanting more! I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

  • You don't want to miss this!

RUN....don't walk...and ORDER this book. If you've not read the Simple Wild, order that too!! I read the Simple Wild last year with my book club and fell in love with Jonah and Calla! I don't usually like hate-to-love romances, but in my opinion, it was mild dislike that grew into playful taunting then full blown love!♥♥ And then comes Wild at Heart....because my heart was broken at the end of The Simple Wild and this book was one of my most HIGHLY ANTICIPATED books of 2020. [author:K.A. Tucker|4866520] does such an awesome of character development, plot development and....oh gosh...this newest book is just PERFECTION!!! This book picks up where the Simple Wild leaves off and we see how Jonah and Calla manage their lives together and the obstacles they face together. We see and feel the growth of Calla and Jonah as individual people and as couple. I think I love every character in this book!! I'd give more stars if I could! Thank you to K.A. Tucker and Social Butterfly PR for allowing me to read and review this book for free for an honest review.

  • One of my most anticipated sequels of 2020!

When I heard that KA Tucker was writing a sequel to The Simple Wild, I was ecstatic. Normally when there’s a “sequel” to a romance book, the author shifts the focus to a side character and expands upon his or her story. But in this case, we were getting more Jonah and Calla and I WAS HERE FOR IT. (And when she moved up the release date from March to February, I did a little happy dance.) The Simple Wild is one of my favorite enemies to lovers romances, and while I was satisfied with the way it ended, to pick up where we left off was a dream, and pick up RIGHT WHERE WE LEFT OFF WE DID. Jonah has declared that Calla has ruined Alaska for him, and Calla can’t imagine a world without Jonah--so she packs up her many suitcases and travels north, this time for good. I loved watching Calla and Jonah settle into their new life together in Alaska. Their love sprang up quickly and fiercely in The Simple Wild, but in Wild at Heart we get to see the roots develop. They are such different people with such vastly different life experiences and goals that it was obvious to me that there were going to be plenty of challenges to overcome before their happy ever after. From the small bumps in the road to the giant hurdles they had to cross, I was rooting for them the entire way. The issues they faced--breakdowns in communication, different expectations, insecurity, pride, etc.--felt incredibly real because they are the issues EVERY couple has to face at some point in their relationship. It was completely relatable and refreshing to watch a couple work to make it work. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a book without Wren because he was such an important part of their story, but I felt like Tucker really honored Wren and his memory in this new chapter of Jonah and Calla’s story. And while the grief is still very much present, with the passing of time Calla is able to more fully process her loss. Actually, Calla grows and changes in many important ways over the course of the sequel, and I love watching her gain confidence in herself and her relationship with Jonah. In telling more of Jonah and Calla’s story, Tucker also introduces a whole new cast of side characters in the new little town they settle into. I wish Agnes and Mabel were more a part of this story--I missed how much the little group felt like a family--but I’m pretty attached to these new characters now, too. I wish the story had been about a hundred pages longer because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Jonah, Calla, and the rest. If I’m being honest, a few plot devices felt recycled, but I GOT MORE JONAH AND CALLA, so I am not complaining, not even a little bit. Bottom line: KA Tucker delivered a doozy of a sequel, and if you loved watching Jonah and Calla fight WITH each other in The Simple Wild, you NEED to watch them fight FOR each other in Wild at Heart. Have I mentioned that now I really want to go back and visit Alaska again? There’s really no place in the world like it. Thank you to NetGalley, KA Tucker, and Butterfly PR for my advance reading copy of Wild at Heart in exchange for an honest review.

  • I can’t get enough of Jonah & Calla!!

This book starts right where The Simple Wild left off and I was still having book hangover from reading TSW 2 weeks ago. Going in, I was a bit afraid that the sequel won’t live up to how much I loved TSW. ⁣ ⁣ I am so glad I was proven wrong. I fell in love with Jonah again and reminded what a great couple Jonah & Calla makes. I love seeing old friends and meeting their new neighbors that act so much depth to the book. I love how Wild at Heart showed how close knit community these towns in Alaska could be. ⁣ ⁣ Thank you to @socialbutterfly_pr and @katucke_ for the gifted ARC. Go ahead and preorder it now. So you can read this on Feb 18th. ⁣

    Thanks for your feedback!
