    Hot Read

July Flames is the next book in a series by Mari Carr. Fergus has returned from war and ended his military service. He has started a private security firm with a few of his cousins. Their first case comes quickly and it is providing protection to a pop-star. Aubrey is closed up and doesn't let anyone get close. She trusts no one after her momager betrayed her. Now she is getting flowers with threatening notes attached and people around her are getting hurt. When Fergus comes along, she can't get rid of him, like she has with everyone else but she isn't going to make it easy for him. Fergus had no clue who Aubrey was before he met her. She doesn't make protecting her easy but he knows that she had been hurt before. What will happen when the two of them are forced together by circumstances? Mari Carr is a great writer. Her books mix the love of a close Irish family with a side of steamy. She's an automatic buy for me.

    The Collins Family Rocks

Fergus Collins is former military. He decides to start a security business with his cousin Finn after he gets out. His first case, protect Aubrey Summers a former TV teen show personality and now music star from a stalker. He is hesitant at first because he heard about her reputation and the fact that she constantly fires her bodyguards. He takes the case because the record company hired him and Aubrey can’t fire him. He is not impressed when he first meets her and soon realizes that he has his job cut out for him. He can make it, he only has to stay until the tour is over. Aubrey Summers is strong willed, stubborn and has major trust issues due to being used by the people around her, especially her mother, her former manager. When she meets no nonsense Fergus, she does everything she can do to get rid of him, but he won’t be deterred. Fergus is determined to find out who the stalker is. Accidents happen to anyone upsetting Aubrey. As the tour continues, these two strong willed people bang heads quite a few times. Things begin to change as they both get to know one another. Soon a romance develops. This also causes the stalker to up his game. Can Fergus keep Aubrey safe and find out who is stalking her before the tour is over? What will happen to their relationship too? I really enjoyed this book. I love this family. The chemistry is great between these two characters as they develop and grow throughout this story. I especially liked how Fergus finally realizes that he can’t do this job on his own and enlists the help of the rest of the family to help him find the stalker and protect Aubrey. In typical Collins fashion, Aubrey is accepted as a member of the family, something she has longed for. I laughed at the antics of some of the Collins men as they fan girled over Aubrey because they used to watch her show. There are a few twists and turns as Fergus tries to find the stalker and the suspense builds up on the last night of the tour as we find out who the stalker really is. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more of the Collins family, especially Pop.

    Flames...

It never ceases to amaze me that Mari Carr gives us 2 different people, from 2 different backgrounds and show us clearly that love can always be found in the right circumstances. There are always those that will not have any redeeming qualities and sometimes we have to walk away from those to find the love of our life. Loved it!!

    Smoking Hot, plus Emotional Connection

Child-star-turned-pop-star Aubrey and former-military-turned-bodyguard Fergus initially clash, but it quickly becomes clear he's the steady and earnest protector she needs. Letting down her walls to trust him might be the most difficult thing she's ever done, but first she has to know if he's worthy of that trust. Their romance develops as a slow burn, but there's no shortage of emotional connection and sexual tension along the way. The secondary characters play an important part, especially Fergus's family. The tight-knit Collins clan is loving, if quirky, and various members demonstrate to Aubrey what family is truly about throughout the story. Wouldn't have been the same story without them.

July Flames is one hot story!

Each character that Mari Carr writes I fall absolutely in love with. July Flames is no different. In this installment in the Wilder Irish series, it’s Fergus’ turn. He’s out of the military and starting a business with his cousin. He’s asked by another Collins clan member to be a bodyguard to Aubrey. Aubrey has some issues from her past, mainly trust issues. She’s acquired some tough skin and doesn’t let anyone in. But Fergus does just that, as he gets past that wall that she has set up around her heart. It was great to read their banter. And let’s not forget the smoking sexy scenes, Mari Carr writes some very steamy stories. If anyone needed some family loving, it was Aubrey and what better family than the Collins family, especially Pop Pop. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
