A Truly Unforgettable and Phenomenal Finale

Winter was the incredible conclusion of the Lunar chronicles and Meyer's spectacular blend of friendship, romance, action and political tension resulted in a finale that surpassed all my expectations. The novel begins where the third book left off, with Kai, Cinder, Thorne, Cress, Wolf and Iko hatching a plan to begin the Lunar Revolution, while Scarlet, Winter and Jacin face the machinations of Levana's court. I loved Cinder's development into a revolutionary, wow, she was fierce, she was determined and she aced it. And *swoon* Cinder and Kai were such a cute mastermind couple in this book. This book gave us a deeper insight into the characters - Scarlet's resilience could put Katniss to shame, Carswell Thorne was his unabashed awesome self and the rest of the Rampion crew equally as magnificent. Without a doubt, my favourite aspect of this book was how Ms. Meyer grouped different characters together to face difficult situations, so it really shows just how strong the bonds between the cast of characters are. The friendship between this characters of such varying personalities and backgrounds are heartwarming and what I feel is the defining feature of this series - and can I just mention that hilarious conversation between Thorne and Kai. The author's world-building of the much anticipated Luna and Artemisia was captivating and her prose was wonderful. Reading the characters as they navigated there way through the impoverished sectors of Luna and the opulence of Artemisia was in itself compelling. There was so many things happening through this book that I think the 800 pages and the year long wait were well worth it. This was an absolutely beautiful and epic ending to an unforgettable series - and I truly mean unforgettable, I think the Lunar chronicles is going to be one of those series that I'm going to re-read every year without fail. I'm so not ready to say goodbye to this series, because heck...I'm going to miss these characters and their world - because hello I so want to live in world with commonplace androids and portscreens. Marissa Meyer, thank you for taking me on such a phenomenal intergalactic adventure, your books were masterpieces and so much more. I can't wait to read the epilogue in Stars Above, honestly its the only thing that's keeping from facing the corner of my room and crying like a giant infant.

Amazing finale to a truly extraordinary series

You will love Winter - you have to, you can't ignore how kind or sweet she is. Also as it's the last book, it's both extremely action packed and interesting to the point you'll have troubles putting the book down. I know I read it in a day and a half! Marissa closes all stories beautifully and gave us all a grand finale to tie up both the bigger arch and the smaller side stories. (Kind of) SPOILERS: for some reason Marissa truly has decided that Scarlet and Wolf have to suffer more than the rest of the characters, so I have to warn the more soft-hearted readers that the development in their story did made me cry with real tears and shook me emotionally. They do survive, but I really had to put the book down at one point and just do some slow breathing to calm myself down.
