  • Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantel

I did like this book, although I struggled at times as the author was continually evasive as to who she was writing about, you did not know who was apeaking to who and quite often digresed onto other subjects and then suddenly returned to the previous conversation. I stayed with it as it was in most parts quite well written and. I am also watching the tele series and so far it seems to relate well. I

  • Wolf hall

I enjoyed this book ,I already knew the story. But this version backed up by the TV programme showed another dimension and a more indepth look at the politics of the day,its not all about a bloated selfish man and his whims about women and an obsession to blame everthyone because he was desperate for a son and heir.I'm now reading the next book ,"bringing up the bodies" to complete the story line.

  • i agree with the rest of the world...

i love a book that is a time machine; that takes you to the time and place and lets you meet, face to face, the actual characters in the story. Ms Mantel achieves this for me in this subtly original re-telling of a true tale. I will now begin the sequel....

  • The anti - Man for All Seasons

I'd read A Man for All Seasons and needed further context to grasp everything, but there was too much material to sift through so I ended up picking Wolf Hall. Best decision I've made. Make sure you read A Man for All Seasons first before you read Wolf Hall -- and if you're Catholic (or just practice saint veneration) don't start blaming the books if you start to either hate Thomas More...or in my case, consider getting his medallion.

  • Wolf Hall

A narrative style that is disconcerting at first but a rich and interesting novel especially for history lovers.
