  • Start of a spinoff werewolf series

Having read 5 of the books in Paige Tyler's previous SWAT series, I was already pretty familiar with her world of werewolves, however, I do think this new series can stand alone and that a new reader would have no problem jumping in here. That said, I did find the book a bit more chaotic than her SWAT series. I think that was because there was a lot to establish up front, a whole new team composed of both werewolves and humans, a new agency (the STAT group), new supernatural creatures, and a host of new locations as this series will be more international in scope than the SWAT series which was mainly set in Dallas. The plot also seemed to be filled with action, maybe just a touch too much so, but it was fast-paced and exciting. Jake was wonderful as the alpha and leader of this new team, determined to meld them together into a "pack". Jestina was initially a bit hostile as she was accustomed to fighting rogue werewolves and didn't think much of supernaturals in general, but she softened as she got to know and started to trust the rest of the team. And of course, it turned out that she was Jake"s "one", his soulmate, so she didn't fight her attraction to him for long. I'll be looking forward to more stories in this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  • Awesome paranormal romantic suspense

Just like the SWAT series I think I am really going to love this new STAT series. I love me some werewolves! Ms. Tyler knows how to do paranormal romance right. And this new series spin-off starts off with a bang for sure! And I love that it seems like it is going to be an international thing, which is cool and intriguing. This story mainly takes place in England and is full of action but still has plenty of character development, relationship building and intimacy. Jake Huang who we have met before is a former Navy SEAL and is the alpha of his new pack. He travels with his new team to join forces with Jestina Ridley who is human and recently lost her team members to what she thinks is a werewolf. So as you can imagine she starts off with some serious trust issues and hesitancy. Jake is strong, sexy and hard to resist and a force to be reckoned with; the rest of his team are equally fascinating-Caleb, Harley, Misty and Forrest all with their own interesting skill-sets/abilities. I really liked the relationship between Jake and Jes, but I also really enjoyed the story as a whole because it has just the right amount of all the ingredients that make up a great paranormal romance! Look forward to more!

  • An Absolutely Amazing Paranormal Suspense Romance

An Absolutely Amazing Paranormal Suspense Romance . I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy through Netgalley of Wolf Under Fire . I really enjoyed reading this Fantastic Story . It definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat with pulse pounding suspense and intrigue . The characters are a fabulous collection of individuals each team member has their own unique skills and abilities . This is such a well written story . It kept me captivated from start to finish . Special Agent Jake Huang is lead agent for his FBI/CIA Special Threat Assessment team (STAT ) . Jake is also a werewolf he and his team are sent to London when two Agents had their throats ripped out by an unknown creature . They must help the lone team mate Jestina Ridley on a case of a kidnapping where the security guards also had their throats ripped out . Jake is taken from the moment he sees a picture of Senior Field Agent and new team member Jestina (Jes) . Little do they know it's gonna get intense very fast . This story is Action packed and absolutely brilliant . I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .

  • From SWAT to STAT!

The start of another great suspenseful paranormal romance series, "Wolf Under Fire" is Jake and Jestina's story. It has everything thing you would expect and more from a Paige Tyler book. Former Navy Seal Jake leads the Special Threat Assessment Team, and I must say, he is one hot alpha. As the sexy werewolf and his team investigates what appears to be supernatural killings in London, the last thing Jake expects is to find 'the one' with Jestina. A woman that doesn't exactly trust supernaturals. With page turning action, suspense, danger, and a bit of romance, I found it difficult to put it down until the last page had been read. **I was gifted "Wolf Under Fire" via Netgalley and leave my review voluntarily based on my reading** 5 Stars!
