  • Scifi and fantasy in one collection

Being an SFF fan, this seemed like a interesting collection that covers both science fiction and fantasy - and it was free! It covers a good spectrum of Gockel's work, including stories from both her major scifi and fantasy series, the Archangel Project and I Bring The Fire respectively. The first book from each series is included, making this collection a good "taster" for those who have yet to read her work. I personally enjoyed all the stories - exccept maybe the last short story Let There Be Light as it ended on a cliffhanger. I Bring The Fire is an intriguing retelling of Norse mythology focusing on Loki, while Archangel Project has a culture rejecting technology; first contact with various aliens including sentient AIs and telepathic energy beings; and heart-thumping escapades thrown in. Overall, recommended for readers who enjoy both scifi and fantasy.
