    Difficult, but worth it...

I found this book to be a bit of a hard slog. The writing was a little dry in parts and I had a bit of difficulty with the way Anna was treated by other members of her village. She had gone through so much hardship in her life and always seemed so selfless, but continued to be taken advantage of or overlooked by everyone. Even those who should've known better. That said though, the last hour or so of reading this book was like having someone lift away a dark curtain and have the sunshine warm you. I was glad to have stuck with it and finished the journey.

    Year of Wonders

Very insightful gripping story that carries you into a time of extreme testing of the human race, a reflection of that eras beliefs. Well written and researched and educational

    Black death

A fascinating read about a English village during the plague. This novel gave a historical perspective to the events in seventeenth century England. I was enthralling by the story-telling.
