  • Which devices can I listen to audiobooks on?

    You can listen to audiobooks with the free Kobo App on smartphones and tablets running Android version 4.4 or higher or iOS version 9.0 or higher.

    Audiobooks cannot be played:

    • on
    • in Kobo Desktop
    • in the Kobo App for Windows or BlackBerry
    • on Kobo eReaders
    • on Kobo Arc 7, 7HD or 10HD tablets
  • What happens after my free trial is complete?

    Once your free trial is complete, you’ll be automatically enrolled into our current subscription plan, where you’ll receive one credit every month for $12.99. On your recurring billing date we’ll add the credit to your account, which you can exchange any time.

  • How many credits do I need to exchange for an audiobook?

    One credit = one audiobook. It’s that simple!

  • Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

    Absolutely! You can cancel at any time without restrictions.

    To cancel your subscription, sign in on and click My Account. Then, select My Subscriptions, where you’ll be able to cancel.

  • What happens to the audiobooks in my library if I cancel my subscription?

    Nothing! Once you’ve exchanged a credit for an audiobook, it belongs to you for good, even if you cancel your subscription.

  • What happens to my unused credits if I cancel my subscription?

    Once you cancel your audiobooks subscription, any unused credits will remain active for six months beginning from your cancellation date. This means you’ll have six months to exchange each credit for an audiobook from our catalogue.

  • Why am I required to add credit card information for a free trial?

    Free trials are only offered as part of a subscription plan. We require your credit card information to cover your recurring subscription charges once the free trial is complete.

  • Can I get a refund for a credit?

    No, audiobook credits are non-refundable. If you cancel your subscription, you will have six months to use any remaining credits.

  • I can’t buy anything in my Kobo App for iOS. Why not?

    Due to an agreement between Kobo and Apple, the Kobo App for iOS doesn’t include our store. If you use an iOS smartphone or tablet, you’ll need to purchase (or exchange a credit for) your audiobook on Once your transaction is complete, your audiobook will then appear in your Kobo App for iOS.

  • Are Kobo audiobooks available to customers everywhere?

    Currently, audiobooks are available to Kobo customers living in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.

  • Can I place my subscription plan on hold?

    No, this is not a service we can provide at this time.

  • What if I run out of credits, but I’d like to listen to more than 1 audiobook a month?

    That’s easy. Current subscribers can always buy instant credits to continue getting the best price on audiobooks. Instant audiobook credits are only sold in a 3-pack. If you don’t want to buy 3 credits today, you can still buy an audiobook for its listed price any time.
