Top reads we couldn't put down

Anthony K., Project Manager and non-fiction lover

I read when I should be sleeping. I love reading and learning about the current and past world because “you can’t make this stuff up” - often history is more interesting than if someone had thought up what happened.

DEANDRA L., Merchandiser, Australia & New Zealand and genre explorer

I love experimenting with new genres that I don't think I'll like, because I tend to be surprised, and it's opened my eyes to so much. I often find myself falling into a great story and getting lost in the pages of a book, not realizing how long I've been reading until I look up. "Just one more chapter" turns into, "oops, there goes the whole book."

Nathan M., Director of Merchandising and commuting reader

My mom tells a story of when I was 5 and she sent me outside to play. She found me an hour later on a lawn chair in the garage with a stack of books. I haven’t changed much; only now I take an audiobook with me when I go running, and everywhere else I’ve got my eReader. I’m always switching between fiction and non-fiction and old books and new releases to keep things interesting. Reading is like trying on someone else’s brain, and I don’t know of any easier way to accidentally become more intelligent and compassionate.

NORA P., Merchandising Coordinator and late-night reader

I am lost without a book. If I forget to throw something into my purse before leaving the house, I'll feel a little uneasy all day. If I’m between books and don’t know what’s next, I’ll feel similarly uncomfortable because there’s no greater feeling than the promise of returning to a great book. My favourite time to read is right before bed, pushing the limits of the day with something that is itself so expansive (though I often wake a few hours later with the lights on and my place lost).

Robyn B., Sr. Marketing Manager & lover of fiction, non-fiction and chick lit

I read while commuting on the subway or on my desktop app at work (shh don’t tell my employer). I love that reading lets me use my imagination daily and helps me to continue to learn.
