    Really good

The book alternates between current day, through the point of view of Andy, and a past timeline about 30 years ago, through the point of view of Jane (Andy’s mom). There’s a point in the book where both storylines pick up and cliffhangers are left between and it’s pretty intense. The chapters are so long though (too long for my liking) that you kind of forget about the other cliffhanger for a bit until you start the next chapter. I would have preferred the chapters to be a bit shorter so you are back and forth faster and I think that would have added to the intensity of it and would have made it unputdownable! However, I did still appreciate the cliffhangers and intensity. I’m just not a fan of long chapters in general. I didn’t care much for Andy in the beginning. It felt like I was reading about someone much younger – not a woman in her thirties! She was very immature at first, but she grew throughout the novel. I thought this book was really good. This is the second book I’ve read from this author. She writes good mystery, that’s for sure.

    I liked it

The book begins with a killing in a restaurant and then goes back 32 years and tells the story of Jane’s life, who she is and what happened with her. I enjoyed reading this book and it kept me interested, though not as much as other books by this author.

    PIECES OF HER

A most believable story line. A story within a story that will keep you hanging with suspense. Karin Slaughter has written another masterpiece.

    Disappointing

Bought this after I read a positive review. What a disappointment. Never seen such an unrealistically weak protagonist. Certainly won’t look for another Karin Slaughter novel!
