    Just. Don't.

I bought this knowing full well I was going to be disappointed but a small part of me hoped the publishers hadn't sold out. I realised fairly quickly that the style was clumsy and inelegantly written but I persevered in the hope that the story would compensate. No, just no. It was just as a expected and I gave up half way through. A big shame and an insult to the characters and author. It does annoy me that I have just furnished the pockets of a greedy publisher because they were banking on people like me being swayed by the pull of the original trio.

    Missed the nuances

The story was good enough and well told but the characters were shallow; not the sort that you would care about much. Then there was Lisbeth. First up he got the tattoo wrong. It is on her left shoulder blade, not the full back as in the film. And that pretty much summed it up from there on. The nuances were not there. She was portrayed like someone acting the role; not the real sometimes savage Lisbeth. She would have to have an IQ off the scale to be able to master what she is credited with here. The character of her sister is somewhat forced but who cares. Camilla is as shallow as Lisbeth is deep: the real Lisbeth that is.

Great book, really continues the Millennium story

I would perhaps say that Stieg Larsson's writing was better but the difference is really subtle. Of course, the translation may have contributed to it as it is a different translator from the one that translated the trilogy into English. The story is just as amazing (less gruesome) and the pace just as fast. I probably would have liked a bigger story altogether - it felt a bit short - but can also understand that the author is perhaps leaving room for more books. Would certainly love to see more of them. Highly recommended

The Girl in the Spider's Web

Briliant! Equally as griping as the previous three, well done David Lagercrantz. I hope you will write a fifth.

The girl in the spider's web.

A welcome to meet the people from Stieg Larsson's previous books. The writing style is a little bit different from Larsson's but very interesting. As a Swede in Australia like to follow the general live in the old country and Lagercrantz description of Stockholm is very good.
