The books we’re most looking forward to this week

Kiley Reid’s 2019 novel Such a Fun Age was a hit with readers drawn to imperfect characters and uncomfortable but relatable situations. With Come & Get It Riley returns with a campus novel about Millie, a senior resident assistant looking to get on with adulthood who’s offered a proposition by a visiting professor that seems too easy to turn down. But a lesson Millie’s going to learn before school is done with her is that this is not going to be as easy as it seems, and she’s made to question whether she miscalculated her ability to afford earning this tempting reward.

Emily Nagoski, author of the bestselling guide human sexuality Come As You Are, turns her focus to the sexually-charged space between humans in her new book, Come Together: The Science (and Art!) of Creating Lasting Sexual Connections. As you’d expect from Nagoski, it’s packed with scientific explanations for why some of us feel the way we do (or used to) about our partners, as well as some tips on how to find our way to re-connecting with our partners in the context of a long-term relationship.

If you heard Kobo staffer Rachel singing the praises of Emily Austin’s charming novel Interesting Facts About Space in our year-end Staff Picks episode of the Kobo in Conversation podcast (she got her hands on an advance reading copy, which made it the best book she read in 2023) you can now read it for yourself.
